Megan was an undergraduate student and studying Respiratory Therapy. Her passions include teaching and improving community health. Her life-long dream is to create an international volunteer group that provides healthcare necessities to communities that lack these fundamental needs. In her second year, Megan completed her clinical rotation at The Kamloops Pediatric Sleep Centre. Her job is to document patient records and assist with diagnosing several sleep disorders within paediatric patients. She is highly involved in her community and a strong supporter of youth empowerment. She has led a variety of initiatives including Tutoror, which provides youths with opportunities to volunteer and learn valuable skills. Her other involvements include serving as a research assistant performing data analysis. Megan's responsibilities in this role include data processing and interview screening to ensure the protection of integrity in all distinguishing subjects. Megan strongly suggests taking the course “Professional Issues in Health Care” because it addresses important subjects that are normally ignored. This course covers topics such as dealing with death, racism in the healthcare sector, and professional etiquette within patient, colleagues, and hierarchical relationships.
